[March-12th-2024] about self-improvement

Self improvement feels like a game to me.

I invest my time and effort in a skill or hobby just so my future self will have these cool "skills" to show off. And it's not really that hard, because if you do something you really like and enjoy, you learn 100 times faster than if you just do it for the sake of doing it. The same thing is happening to me right now, I started programming my own website about 2 weeks ago and now I only have one. Of course it's not the most beautiful or optimized website with the best code in the world. But it works and I didn't just copy everything from the internet (which I'm very proud of). It was and still is a lot of fun to work on and improve it. And I can just feel how much I learned just by enjoying the progress.

So I think if you are going to do something or try to "improve" your skills, you should just have fun and enjoy the process.
